direction. the possibility of some late snow. i think late this afternoon north and west and during the evening hours around here tonight. this one has enough with it that we'll probably see another coating on the ground or potentially some spots could see an inch or if you are watching well to the north and west across northern maryland. this one might produce a little more than an inch in some spots. it won't be impacting you for your morning commute and again, the timing on this one will be later tonight, early tomorrow morning as that approaches from the north and west. temperature right now at reagan national, 28 degrees. it is in the mid-20s across the area. it is a cold start. definitely lots of layers and be ready for another chilly day again today with highs only in the mid-30s and clouds. lots of details on the forecast over the next five and a half hours. back to you guys at the desk. >> don't say it like that. >> you sounded angry. >> back to the super bowl now. remember this from last night? a power outage at the super

dome led to a delay last night in the third quarter. the game was delayed about 30 minutes. officials say an abnormality in the power system triggered an automatic shutdown. a becomeup system kept the field from going completely dark but credit card machines and escalators were affected. >> joe flacco earned the super bowl mvp honors. it capped offer a brilliant playoff run. he ended up with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in four post-season games. >> we are talking about the big game on facebook this morning. we want to know what you did think of ray's last ride and flacco being named mvp?

share your comments with us on facebook. taking a break from the super bowl for a moment, president obama says the economy is showing signs of recovery. >> he sat down with cbs news for an exclusive interview before last night's game. >> housing is overing. manufacturing is going strong. car sales are up. truth is is that overall, there were a lot of positive signs in the economy. >> reporter: the u.s. economy is taking a step forward but some economists say on the a slow path. some say one of the things holding up progress is folks in washington. president obama is calling on lawmakers to work on a balanced approach to deal with the deficit. >> republicans are unwilling to touch revenue. they say let's deficit spend. democrats deficit spend. that is why the country does not trust washington.

february 4th. taking a live look over washington, d.c., a cold start to your day. there are a lot of people who don't care. good morning. i'm sarah simmons i'm wisdom martin. still on the streets of bald probably partying at this point. the baltimore ravens win super bowl xlvii 34-31 the game included about a 34-minute power outage. it was the last big show for ray lewis and joe flacco was the mvp. >> it was exciting. >> exciting for you. stressful if you are a ravens fan. >> i bet every everybody thought they were going to lose the momentum. >> it was very stressful. >> can you imagine, if baltimore had lost that game after that power outage, it would have been drama. >> and rightfully so. inexcusable to have no power

after a little morning sunshine, the clouds roll in this afternoon. by late this afternoon, if you are a viewer well north and west into western maryland and west virginia, you might see the snow showers start moving in. there you go. high temperatures in the mid- to upper 30s. and again, some snow showers arriving tonight. might be enough to cause a few early delays tomorrow morning. i'll have details in just a minute. >> thank you. time now to check in with julie wright to see how traffic is going this morning. >> still trying to thaw out. southbound 270 off to a quiet start with no issues reported right now for those continuing from hyattstown out towards clarksburg. top stretch of the beltway with ease from ledge park headed over to 270. coming across the american legion bridge, traffic at speed leaving 270 headed for tyson's and vice versa. now northbound i-95 running at

speed as you continue north across the occoquan headed to the beltway. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. the big story, of course, super bowl xlvii and the blackout. >> baltimore gets on the board first. joe flacco to bolden for the 13- yard touchdown. flacco steps up and throws deep to jones and then gets up and runs in. 56-yard touchdown. we go to the second half. again, same guy, ravens lead 21- 6. jones takes it from eight yards deep in the end zone t ends up matching the nfl record

for the longest kickoff ever. with a lead, the lights in the superdome went out resulting in a 34-minute delay. and then the momentum switched. 49ers down five, four and goal, lobs it to michael crabtree and it falls incomplete. someone argued that there was kind of a penalty on that play but the ravens, no matter what, they go on to win 34-31. joe flacco was the game mvp. >> no greater way as a champ top go out on your last ride with the men that i went out with, with my teammates and you looked around this stadium and baltimore, baltimore, we coming home, baby. >> we don't make it easy but that is the way the city of baltimore is. that is the way we are.

we did this for them back home. we had a great sendoff and we can't wait to get back there for the parade. >> you can at least say it wasn't boring. >> it was twists an entire game. >> thousands of ravens fans poured in the streets of baltimore to celebrate the team's second championship. >> the partying went into the wee hours of the morning. melanie alnwick has fan reaction. >> it was that kind of celebration that turned complete stranger into his friends at least for the six hours or so they rallied around the rav phones a final time this season. there was a lot of whooping and hollering once the victory became official.

he kidnapped the boy off his school bus last week after killing the bus driver. investigators have been in contact with the pair and are able to give the boy some food, toys and his medicine. >> we don't know when and we went ever know why probably we were ever faced with this as a community, as a whole. >> yesterday, loved ones laid to rest the bus driver killed last tuesday when this situation all began. in our other top stories, a bus crash outside los angeles leaves eight people dead. the california highway patrol says a tour bus collided with two other cars and as many as 38 were hurt. the driver reported having problems, brake problems right before rear ending a car and flipping over on it a pickup truck t happened last night in the mountains of southern california about 80 miles from l.a. a bus crash in boston left 28 people hurt. the bus hit an overpass after

the entire area here this morning is below the freezing mark. 22 in hagerstown. 25 in winchester. cold start to the day. kids will want to be properly attired as they get ready for school and we'll see highs in the mid-30s. mid- to upper 30s. it won't be terribly uncomfortable but it will be a cool afternoon. here is your satellite-radar. clear skies to start your day. we'll get some clouds moving in shortly. our next little clipper system, off to the north and west t will dive right back down to the washington area. not a lot of moisture with t we are not expecting a big snow event around here. but late this afternoon, north and west and during the nighttime hours, we'll get another bout of snow showers across the area. as you get further north and west, you have the greatest potential for the snow, maybe an inch or so. with temperatures below freezing tonight, it will get a chance to stick. becoming cloudy. cool afternoon. winds north and west here at five to 10. could be a few snow showers

north and west late this afternoon. a better chance tonight as that clipper system moves on through. evening snow showers. light accumulations. a possibility particularly north and north and west where we have avenue got the best chance for measurable snow. so not a terribly big deal. here is your accu-weather seven- day forecast. lots of clouds around with highs in the upper 30s. if you are going up to baltimore to the parade, temperatures warm up towards the middle and end of the week. warmer temperatures on the way for people like julie wright who haven't been able to breathe for the past week because it is so cold. can't feel her lips. let's get to julie wright. >> it is cold. i'm still trying to thaw out. on the roads right now, 395 northbound north of duke street, no problems to report in the hov lanes or the main line as you travel northbound head out -- headed out towards the 14th street bridge. 66 still an easy ride leaving
